When starting with a new team it is vital to set effective, mutually agreed and practical frames to enable cooperation in the best way.

As leaders we all know how important some ground rules are for teams to function well. The better these are in terms of their relevance and acceptance across all members the greater the effect with regard to fostering collaboration in the team. This takes quite some time and energy, however, it has a high potential to create sustainable engagement and commitment to the team and each other in the team.

Unfortunately some leaders jump over these fairly quickly and neglect its effect for the performance of the team, especially when the going gets tough!

I have more than 16 years of professional experience in FMCG internationally. In this period I worked in different European countries and in various functions, i.e. Supply Chain, Research & Development and Technical Marketing interfaces, with more than 14 years of experience as line manager in assignments spanning from factory management to programme management in corporate research.
